Overview

CoastGrove (coastgrove.org) is a static informational site about temperate rainforest understory ecology. This policy describes how the site handles information from visitors.

This site does not collect personal information through server-side systems. There is no database, no registration system, and no account functionality.

Information collected

Server logs

Web hosting providers typically record access logs that include IP addresses, request timestamps, URLs requested, HTTP status codes, referrer URLs, and browser user-agent strings. These logs are maintained for security and operational purposes. CoastGrove does not use these logs to identify individual visitors or build behavioural profiles.

Contact form

The contact form on the About page collects name, email address, phone number, and message text entered voluntarily by the visitor. This information is processed client-side only and is not transmitted to any server or stored in any database. After the form is submitted, the data is discarded and a confirmation message is displayed.

Cookies and local storage

This site stores one item in your browser's localStorage to record your response to the cookie consent notice. The key is cg_cookie_choice and the value is either accepted or rejected. This data remains in your browser until you clear your browser storage. It is not transmitted to any server.

No third-party cookies are set by this site. Google Fonts are loaded from Google's CDN; Google may set cookies or collect data in connection with this service. Refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details.

Third-party resources

• Google Fonts — Typography is loaded from fonts.googleapis.com. Font requests include your IP address and browser headers.
• Wikimedia Commons — Images are served directly from upload.wikimedia.org. Requests to this domain are subject to the Wikimedia Foundation Privacy Policy.

Children's privacy

This site does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the contact form, contact us at info@coastgrove.org to request removal.
